Our Commitment
Butterfly helps you review your photo library on your device. We do not upload your photos, videos, or photo metadata to developer-operated servers. We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
Information We Process Locally
Photo and video review, swipe decisions, camera metadata formatting, and batch tracking run on your device. Place-name lookups use Apple's network-based service as described below.
Photo Location Names
When EXIF metadata is enabled, Butterfly may send GPS coordinates stored in a photo to Apple's geocoding service to display a place name. This is a network-based lookup governed by Apple's privacy policy. You can stop new lookups by turning off Show EXIF metadata in Settings > Preferences. Butterfly does not request your device's current location.
Local Storage and Your Choices
Preferences, reviewed photo identifiers, and weekly review counts are saved in system app storage on your device. You can reset reviewed progress in Butterfly's Preferences and change Photos access in iOS Settings.
Information You Share With Us
Feedback Center opens your email app addressed to feedback@butterflyswipe.com or copies the developer's WeChat ID. If you choose to send a message, your email or WeChat provider processes your message, contact details, and any attachments. We use what you send to respond to your request. Butterfly does not send feedback or attach photos automatically.
Third-Party Services
Apple's Photos framework may download photos, videos, and associated metadata from iCloud when they are not available locally. StoreKit connects to Apple to load products, process purchases, and restore purchase entitlements. These Apple services are governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Photo Deletions
Items marked for deletion remain staged until you review and confirm them. Confirmed deletions use Apple's Photos framework and follow the system's Recently Deleted and recovery rules. If you use iCloud Photos, Apple may sync these changes across your devices.
Children's Privacy
Butterfly is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
